Showrunner/Director Krysia Plonka is a three-time Emmy winning producer and her recent directing work garnered a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Award and "Jury Prize Winner" for Best Comedy. She is currently attached to direct a female action-comedy feature with Bill Burr’s company ATC and a TV dramedy pilot she wrote entitled, My Casablanca, with Clelia Mountford (Bad Sisters) and Kara Welker (IMAGINE) attached as producers. â€‹

On Hulu, you can find her directing work on the documentary, Planet Sex with Cara Delevigne,  which Variety called "fresh and engaging". Fortune Feimster’s trending Netflix stand-up special, SWEET & SALTY, that Krysia executive produced and directed was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award. She also showran and was the director of the third season of the documentary series History of Comedy for CNN. Her Atlanta-based docu-follow competition show, My Celebrity Dream Wedding, can be found on Vh1. 

 

She is currently attached to direct an action comedy feature with Bill Burr's production company, ATC.  Last year, she directed a musical, Wendy, My Darling with featuring Busy Philipps and Jon Cryer.

Recently, she directed a Maker's Mark branded Roku series entitled The Show Next Door with Randall Park, featuring Tony Hale, Nicole Byer, Trixie Mattel and Mark Duplass.

For nine years prior, she co-owned and oversaw all development for her boutique comedy production company, Thank You, Brain!, where she also showran and directed projects.


There, she executive produced two seasons of the half-hour action comedy, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, alongside Rawson Marshall Thurber (We’re the Millers, Dodgeball) where she also served as 2nd Unit Director. The series featured Jon Cryer, Jane Lynch, Kristen Bell, Donald Faison, Joel McHale, Dax Shepard and was named by TV Guide as “one of the best shows on television” (that no one ever saw!).


On HBO MAX, Krysia directed on and executive produced three seasons of the “relentlessly, defiantly funny” Those Who Can’t, featuring Patton Oswalt, Susie Essman, Baron Vaughn, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Cheri OTeri and Aisha Taylor.


She also executive produced, and directed an indie comedy musical pilot entitled Brooklyn Moving Company, which won the “Jury Prize for Best Comedy” at Series Fest.


Krysia is also responsible for numerous film shorts for major event television, including the People’s Choice Awards, the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Taraji P. Henson’s annual holiday FOX special, featuring talent such as LL Cool J, DJ Khaled, Niecy Nash, Adam Devine and Jillian Bell. She also directed the SFX-intensive show open to Bette Midler’s latest world tour, Divine Intervention.


Krysia is also showrunner/director who launched numerous unscripted hits: Billy on the Street with Billy Eichner (TruTV),  sTORIbook Weddings, the docu-follow with Tori Spelling, the Vision Award winning talk show Weekends with DL Hughley (CC), Emmy-winning John Leguizamo’s Broadway show Freak (HBO), and the Emmy-winning Wayne Brady Show (ABC). 
 

In the digital short space, she executive produced the Jason Biggs and Busy Phillips series, I Like You Just the Way I Am for ABC; and directed Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in a series of holiday shorts for GLAMOUR MAGAZINE.

In theater, Krysia directed the play, Wendy, My Darling in 2022 featuring Jon Cryer and Busy Phillips which earned her Vancouver Fringe's highest honor and a spot at the coveted Edinburgh Fringe Festival.​​
